This project was initiated at the customer’s request, requiring a custom-built solution to meet their specific production needs. UTSI was contacted to modify a Signode MCD-510 strapping system, tailoring it to their unique specifications to enhance production efficiency. The modification involved creating a one-of-a-kind chute size with an opening of 124 inches tall by 80 inches wide—far larger than the standard dimensions. By designing and implementing this special configuration, UTSI helped the customer streamline their strapping process, significantly improving production time and output capacity. Remote Operation

This Signode MCD-510 strapping system was customized to include a remote-control feature, specifically requested by the customer to improve efficiency. The modification allows the driver to activate the strapping cycle without leaving the forklift, streamlining the entire process. This remote capability eliminates the need for manual activation, resulting in a 7-10% reduction in production time on average.
